The Clothes Do Make the Man... and Communicate a Message about the Continuity of Tradition
This quote is from an article speculating about what the Holy Father will wear when he comes to the United States and what kind of theological statement will be made. The clothes do make the man and this Pope has been known for his starkly traditional vestments and restoring some of the more interesting papal fashions .
"That is precisely the problem for Catholics known as "rad trads" -- radical traditionalists. They prefer their Mass in Latin, their priest in a fiddleback and their pope sporting a miter tall enough to touch the heavens. It's not about fashion, they would say, it's about faith. We'll see if they get their wish when Benedict suits up at Yankee Stadium."
Too right we do and if it irritates the press and the liberals, so much the better I say.

What a fashion statement. I like them too! Wouldn't it be great if he can click his heels together and make all the Michael McGough's of journelism disapear! When traveling abroard one can easily identify a religious by his habit and the air he invokes.
