We've received another prayer request from Sam Orsot, this time for the folks in the path of Hurricane Ike. Landfall is expected around midnight Friday, and it could be very bad:
"Pray please for the Gulf Coast. We are about to be struck by a second hurricane in two weeks. Ike has everyone scared again. Texas's gulf coast is about to be torn too. Ike is so massive. Pray for us."




The storm surge peaked at 13.5 ft, way below the ominous prediction of up to 25 ft. Deo Gratias!
Yes Deo Gratias! Pray for Cameron Parish, and even Calcasieu Parish in SWLA. We have just finished rebuilding only to see it under water again. Fr. Nathan Long, who was recently ordained was forced to cancel his first Solemn High Mass in the EF. But, it could have been a lot worse. My prayers are especially for Houston and Galveston. They really got it.
