The ever evolving Ordinary Form is about to gain some new endings. According to Legionaries' news service, Zenit (click here), the following 3 options are coming:
- Go to announce the Gospel of the Lord.
- Go in peace, glorifying the Lord with your lives.
- Go in peace, alleluia, alleluia.
Another source reports a longer list that includes the following:
- Hope you had a good time; see you next Saturday.
- Be sure to pick up any wafers in your pew.
- Keep it down; some old folks have a hangup about noise.
It's good to see that the OF keeps moving ahead.
When will commonsense prevail and just have the Gregorian Rite in the vernacular replace the Novus Ordo. This is what trads should conntinually recommend to the Holy Father. This will bring back liturgical precision and reverence at least as the book says to the Ordinary Rite.
They threw out common sense long ago. They sneer at St. Thomas Aquinas, just as Pope St. Pius X warned. Pope Benedict is one of the chief architects of the post-Thomist thinking. He makes clear that the new Mass is to remain the norm.
The old Mass did go vernacular between the council and the new Mass. They tossed out the communion rail and introduced the party atmosphere. The OF is God's punishment for infidelity to the beautiful liturgy He gave us.
