Saint of the Day

It's Only a Bad Dream, Right?

This week just will not end, will it? We elect a Marxist president. Bishop Gregory exclaims that the only cooler thing would be to have a black pope. Now Pope Benedict praises the Muslim "Golden Rule."

Here are some excerpts from Zenit's article, Pope Affirms Golden Rule of Islam, Christianity.

"The Muslim tradition is also quite clear in encouraging practical commitment in serving the most needy, and readily recalls the 'Golden Rule' in its own version ..."

"Together we [Muslims and Christians] must show, by our mutual respect and solidarity, that we consider ourselves members of one family: the family that God has loved and gathered together from the creation of the world to the end of human history."

He challenged both sides to testify in word and deed to the authenticity of their religion's dedication to peace and mutual understanding. "It is essential that we do so," the Pope said, "lest we weaken the credibility and the effectiveness not only of our dialogue, but also of our religions themselves."

We certainly wouldn't want to weaken the credibility and effectiveness of Islam, would we?

Now that clear thinking has all but vanished in the West, what will be our fate?

My vision of the most difficult martyrdom would be standing up for the faith, even unto death, with a treacherous hierarchy publicly denouncing us for doing so. That may be our fate, as it was for St. Joan of Arc and St. Thomas More.

Sam Orsot :

I think that more martyrs will be made soon. We are now at a point where we would have been regardless of if Obama was elected. We have a new problem on our hands as Catholics. The faith has been passed to my generation watered down. And the muslims, the atheists, the gays, all of these anti-catholic people now want our heads. The hierarchy could be treacherous, or may just shock us and support these future martyrs. But I will leave that to Divine Providence. I just pray that every Catholic, liberal or not, will be ready to lay down their life when that awesome day comes.
