Many of our readers, I hope, will have the opportunity to attend the traditional Easter Vigil this Saturday. The beautiful ceremonies and symbolism, the readings and prayers and chants are filled with the riches of our Faith and are worthy of our meditation.
One part of the Vigil I await with joy every year is the reading of the Creation account in the Book of Genesis. For in this Scripture, the good God took care to provide us some very important details about our nature and the nature of things around us. It serves to lay aside the speculative errors of men, especially those of modern atheistic science. And further, it serves as a sword to divide men according to their will to believe or disbelieve the Genesis account.
The reading of Genesis therefore has a sad side, for most men, including men of the Church, deny some or all of the Genesis account, preferring the fashion of the day, the lie of evolution. But it is as if the good God foresaw this when inspiring the account, for it clearly eviscerates the tale of evolution. For everything was created "according to its kind."
"And he said: Let the earth bring forth the green herb, and such as may seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after its kind... And the earth brought forth the green herb, and such as yieldeth seed according to its kind, and the tree that beareth fruit, having seed each one according to its kind. ... And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds, and cattle, and every thing that creepeth on the earth after its kind. And God saw that it was good."
Dear reader, of what kind are you? Do you hold with the Fathers that creation was complete, as recorded in Genesis? Or do you choose the fashion of the changing of kinds, from plant, to animal, to man? Either our doctrines and our nature do not change, or all is in flux. And this is at the heart of the crisis in the Church today.

That is an interesting way to look at Genesis vs evolution.

It would be nice for those in the Vatican to reread the genesis accounts, they seem to fall over themselves to stay in the good "graces" of their pagan evolutionists buddies who's ONLY interest in Evolution is to say that the Bible is not trustworthy.
The only evolution I know about is found in the Ash Wednesday service when the priest says, "Thou art dust and to dust thou shalt return."
Or maybe that's devolution?
